Highland Lakes Outdoor Living Completed This Gorgeous Outdoor Kitchen in Jonestown, TX

When the Pederson family reached out to us for their outdoor kitchen and privacy wall project in Jonestown, TX, they already had a clear vision for their backyard. Referred to us by a past customer, the Pedersons wanted to transform their patio into a functional and stylish outdoor living space.

Our team at Highland Lakes Outdoor Living was excited to bring their vision to life, combining premium materials and custom craftsmanship.

Project Overview: Outdoor Kitchen Project

This project included the construction of a U-shaped outdoor kitchen and a custom privacy wall, designed for both aesthetics and functionality. The work involved:

• Removing approximately 17 linear feet of wrought iron railing on the patio.
• Extending the wall and finishing the back side of the outdoor kitchen with stucco, while using charcoal Lueders stone with a drystack look for the interior (about 51 square feet in total).
• Building approximately 192 square feet of screen walls with a mix of horizontal and vertical patterns, using 2″ x 8″ Cedar slats, 2″ x 2″ Cedar slats, and 1″ x 6″ tongue-and-groove Cedar.
• Constructing a 32-foot U-shaped outdoor kitchen with charcoal Lueders stone and a Dekton Laurent countertop.

Design Collaboration

While the Pedersons already had plans in place, they turned to our team for guidance on selecting the perfect countertop material.

We recommended the Dekton Laurent color for its durability, modern aesthetic, and compatibility with the charcoal Lueders stone. This choice brought a sleek and elegant finish to the outdoor kitchen.

Unique Features

One of the standout elements of this project is the custom privacy wall, which is uniquely tailored to the property. The combination of vertical and horizontal Cedar wood slats not only provides privacy but also adds visual interest and warmth to the overall design.

Overcoming Challenges

During the installation process, there was an unexpected issue with the countertops provided by Home Depot. The initial installation did not meet our expectations, requiring multiple visits from the installation team to resolve the problem.

Despite this challenge, we ensured the final result was flawless and aligned with the Pedersons’ vision.

The Final Result

The completed outdoor kitchen and privacy wall transformed the Pedersons’ backyard into a stunning and functional outdoor space, perfect for entertaining or relaxing with family. With the combination of stucco, cedar wood, charcoal Lueders stone, and Dekton, the project blends durability with style.
